New England Match Longest Winning Streak From Brady Years with Triumph Against New York Jets

Patriots rookie TreVeyon Henderson in action

Rookie Henderson has recorded five TDs in the present year

New England tied their best victory streak since the Brady era as they overcame AFC East opponents the New York Jets 27-14 in professional football

First-year standout Henderson shone brightly with three TDs as the New England squad claimed an eight-game winning streak for the initial occasion since legendary quarterback Brady's closing campaign with the team in 2019

Quarterback Maye threw for 281 yards and a TD, connecting on 25 of 34 passes

Victory bolsters the Patriots advantage at the top of the AFC East as they advanced to nine victories against two losses, with the New York bottom after slipping to two victories and eight defeats

The Jets had scored first at Foxborough with QB Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to conclude the New York's initial series

But the Patriots answered in the second quarter as the rookie scored two short rushing scores before the ball carrier grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the endzone halfway into the third quarter to make it 21-7

"It was a big time for him delivering, and it's been excellent for him to keep gaining experience," the quarterback said of Henderson. "He aims to be great."

Fields found Metchie in the latter part of the third period to narrow the deficit for the Jets but Borregales booted a pair of field goals in the final period as the Patriots wrapped up the triumph
